Expanding Crypto Travel Options
Global travel search platform Skyscanner has integrated with Travala, a blockchain-based booking platform, allowing users to book hotels using over 100 cryptocurrencies.
As a result, this move aims to cater to the growing number of travelers who prefer digital assets for transactions.
Travala brings more than 2.2M hotels across 230 countries to the platform, placing it alongside major travel agencies like Expedia, Booking.com, and Agoda.
Travala, originally built on the Neo blockchain, shifted to BNB Chain in 2020 to improve scalability and reduce transaction fees.
Moreover, its token, $AVA, is integrated into this system, allowing users to earn rewards like discounts and up to 10% back in Bitcoin through its Smart Program. Consequently, the integration aims to boost visibility and adoption of cryptocurrency in travel bookings.
