We just sat down with macro whisperer and global liquidity wizard, Raoul Pal (Founder & CEO of Real Vision).

And boy was it a doozy of a chat!

Here are the 4 biggest insights from our conversation - along with what it all means for crypto in 2026, & beyond…

1. The 5-year cycle

ICYMI: Raoul’s whole thesis rests on what he calls ‘The Everything Code’.

… which basically says that global liquidity (aka: the amount of money sloshing around the global financial system) drives 90% of Bitcoin’s price movement.

He (and just about everyone else) originally thought we were on a four-year cycle - but that’s since been adjusted by many (Raoul included) to a five-year cycle.

Why? Because the massive debt load the world is carrying got extended by a year.

Meaning, instead of printing a bunch of cash to pay off their old loans last year, governments pushed that ‘print period’ to 2026.

Which is why he’s betting that 2026 is the year the engines finally start roaring. 👇

2. Gold is the "Canary in the Coal Mine"

If you’ve spent any time on Twitter of late, you’ll know that gold has been absolutely RIPPING, while crypto has stayed flatter than the doldrums.

But according to Raoul, this is actually a good sign.

Gold tends to lead crypto by about 180 days - meaning whatever gold does, crypto tends to follow 180 days later.

If the pattern holds, crypto is about to play a massive game of catch-up.

Ah, yes, general excitement for the future…

Keeping to that theme - how’s this for a price target:

3. The $100T destination

Man, Raoul isn't just optimistic - he’s $100-trillion-market-cap-by-the-early-2030s levels of bullish.

That’s a 33x in the next, call it 5-8 years? Phwoar!

But this isn’t coming from nothing, there’s a method to the madness: Metcalfe’s Law.

Metcalfe’s Law says that the more users there are on a network → the more valuable it becomes.

(Think: phone lines. If only 2 people in the world had a phone, owning one would be less valuable, as there are only two people you can contact.)

But of course, there’s a catch…

To hit $100T, crypto has to move past "punting meme coins" and become the rails for everything: tokenized equities, the $4 quadrillion-a-year derivatives market, and even digital IDs.

In Raoul’s eyes, we aren't just trading assets, we are witnessing the birth of a new financial operating system.

4. The "Economic Singularity" deadline

Ok… trying to not freak out over this one.

Raoul believes we have until roughly 2030-2032 to build life-changing wealth.

After that, we hit the "Economic Singularity" - a point where AI becomes the "apex species", robots are everywhere, and agents are building products for other agents.

… at which point, the traditional way of making money - e.g. selling your time or labor?

It could well break.

Raoul’s solution: use crypto as a "savings vehicle for the exponential age" - making sure you own a piece of the new financial network before the AI-driven economy takes over.
