Indian Crypto Exchange WazirX Reportedly Hacked: $230M Stolen
The Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has reportedly fallen victim to a hack. According to the details from the security platform Cyvers, multiple suspicious transactions were identified.
The suspicious transactions involved their multisig wallet on the Ethereum network.

Cyvers reported that over $234.9 million worth of funds have been moved to a new address by the hackers. They also highlighted that the transaction’s caller is funded by Tornado Cash.

WazirX hacker swaps coins to Ethereum
The hacker’s address has already begun swapping PEPE, GALA, and USDT to Ethereum. Cyvers also noted that the exploiters are continuing to swap other assets.
The security platform also mentioned in their tweet that they tried contacting WazirX, but received no response.
Popular on-chain detective ZachXBT also shared the incident. He also mentioned the theft address in his Telegram post.

As per our observation, the hacker currently holds $211 million worth of crypto. The majority of the wallet’s holdings are Shiba Inu, Ethereum, MATIC, Floki and FTM.
The exchange has released a statement regarding the incident. WazirX mentioned in their Telegram announcement channel that they are aware of the security breach.
Following the incident, they stated that their team is investigating the incident. Additionally, they have paused INR and crypto withdrawals temporarily.
