Worldcoin eyes Asian expansion after halting in India
Singapore now represents Worldcoin’s prominent Asian foothold beyond Japan as it tries to meet the intense demand for enrollment in its global digital ID network.
The progress follows a fall tour of Asia by product teams from Tools for Humanity (TFH), a Worldcoin contributor focused on humanitarian ventures. TFH also recently joined startup associations ACCESS and the Singapore Fintech Association, signaling Worldcoin’s ambitions in the region.
Verification Orb sites launched in the German cities of Cologne and Leipzig, while Seville and Bilbao expanded coverage across Spain. Several new Chilean cities also went online, offering enrollment services and strengthening coverage in Argentina.

The expansion comes just months after operations were suspended in India, Brazil, and France due to overwhelming interest that outmatched capacity. According to sources, India saw enrollees flood verification events chasing Worldcoin tokens initially offered as incentives.
The setback highlights the scaling complexities facing Worldcoin’s mission of providing a universal digital ID platform for the unbanked masses. However, the project continues pushing forward, propelled by nearly 2.7 verified users globally.
