Cboe Greenlights Spot Bitcoin ETF Listings
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) has given its nod of approval for various Spot Bitcoin ETF to be listed on its exchange. This approval, however, is contingent upon the forthcoming approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Key Details:
- Cboe approves listing applications for several high-profile spot BTC ETFs.
- These include Ark Invest, Invesco Galaxy, VanEck, Wisdom Tree, Fidelity, and Franklin.
- Bloomberg analysts say this is essentially a request to list tomorrow.
The official request for accelerated registration was sent by the Cboe BZX exchange to the SEC on Wednesday. This move is aimed at expediting the listing process for proposed spot Bitcoin ETFs.Ā

One of the letters submitted to the SEC stated, “In order to facilitate timely listing, the Exchange requests acceleration of registration of these securities under Rule 12d1-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended.”
Senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas shared the news on X, highlighting that this marks the last step before the S-1 effectiveness, with ArkInvest typically leading in such matters.
“Looks like the first ‘request for acceleration’ has dropped. We were expecting them at 4 pm, but earlier is fine. It’s the last step before S-1 effectiveness. Buckle up.”
said Balchunas
James Seyffart, a Bloomberg ETF analyst, emphasized the importance of understanding that this development is not an official approval but rather a request for acceleration.
