I looked at today’s date this morning and… WTF! Where did the year go?!
2023 has flown by like a movie night gone wild. Picture this…
The popcorn just finished “popping”. Your family’s getting comfy on the couch. You press “play” to start the new thriller you’ve been hearing about.
Then, in a twist no one saw coming, the movie starts to fast-forward. All on its own.
Chaos ensues. “Who the hell is sitting on the remote?!”, you yell.
Everyone jumps off the couch… nothing. The movie’s still hurtling forward at breakneck speed.
The movie’s now at the infamous murder scene. Panic sets in. You dive into the dark abyss known as “the couch cushions”. Nada.
You look over to your left and… gasp… your dog has the remote. You run after him. Wrong move.
He thinks it’s a game and runs to the front door. He opens it. (You didn’t know your dog could do that…).
Suddenly, you’re outside. The whole family is running around the neighborhood.
Then 5 minutes later, you catch your dog.
Finally, remote in hand, you dash back inside… only to find it’s the final scene of the movie. The mystery has been solved and the murderer is getting arrested.
Just like that, the movie’s over. The credits start rolling. Finito.
Yup, that’s 2023 for you. It went by faster than you could say “Pass the popcorn”.
But, don’t worry. Just in case you missed the action, we’re gonna hit rewind and do something special to wrap up the year.
Introducing…. *rolls out the red carpet*… The Milk Road Awards.
I know, I know. There are still T-6 weeks left in the year. But we need your help preparing for the big event.
So, here’s the plan:
First, the “award categories”. We have a few ideas like…
MVP (Most Valuable Protocol)
Most/Least Likely To Steal Your Money
The Blocky Balboa Award (for taking the most hits and still standing)
The Lazarus Award (comeback story of the year)
… but we want to hear from you, the Roaders, on which categories you want to see.
So…. STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING THIS VERY SECOND. (That’s right. Forget the coffee. Forget the work. Forget the kids…. ok ok, keep an eye on the kids).

P.S. – Next week we’re gonna announce the final categories and then we’ll open up the awards for nominations from you.
Once that’s done, we’re gonna set up a website where you all can vote.
Then at the end of December – we’ll announce the winners and have our big awards show.

It’s our MRMM (Milk Road Market Movers) Alert. And yes, we gave it the ESPN sound effect. (If you know, you know).
It goes off when token prices increase by a lot, in a short period. Here are some of the tokens that have seen big price pumps this week:
$AVAX: +69% (nice)
JPMorgan announced it’s using the Avalance blockchain to test out tokenized portfolios for asset management.
Additionally, many investors are looking to other Layer 1 networks as gas fees on Ethereum are spiking.
$RNDR: +36%
Render has seen a big pump with the recent A.I. narrative happening in crypto.
It offers a decentralized marketplace for users to exchange GPU compute power (this helps computers display graphics and solve complex tasks).
$SOL: +33%
Solana hasn’t had much actual “news” around it recently. But a lot of big names (including Vitalik himself) have commended the network, and several metrics are reaching all-time highs in the bear market.
Solana’s NFT and developer community has also accelerated, with additional hopes that Solana’s Virtual Machine (SVM) can bring new apps and developers.
Lastly, Solana is showing glimpses of a DeFi summer, with lots of new wallets being created and many token-less projects launching incentive programs.

The National Hockey League (NHL) is launching a new NFT collection called “NHL Breakaway”. The twist? The NHL is calling them digital collectibles instead of NFTs.
Blockchain.com raised $110M. The crypto exchange received funding from Kingsway Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Coinbase Ventures.
Paris Saint-Germain F.C. is launching a new NFT collection. 10% of the collection will be redeemable for a box of physical items from the soccer club.
